Visualize to Materialize
That was the clear and elated message I heard in my head as soon as I walked into a women’s networking lunch in Houston in the Fall of 2018. The restaurant was buzzing with women talking, laughing, and exchanging contact information. It was a lively atmosphere and I was ready to mingle.
I had just started getting out of the house after 18 months of “sabbatical.” I was recovering from an intense Hepatitis-C medical treatment, revitalizing my energy, and nurturing my body back to good health.
At that networking lunch, I met mixed media artist, Nicole Bray. What attracted me to her was the artwork she presented as she introduced herself. She was promoting vision board workshops.
I thought it was a clever idea. I had not ever seen a captivating and balanced vision board rendered as a piece of art.
A Fab Feng Shui Idea
The visual message was laid out neatly, clearly showing creative ability, and attention to detail. I approached Nicole, smiling big, and blurted, ‘This is a fab idea for a Feng Shui vision board workshop!’

Nicole smiled back and expressed that even though she had heard of Feng Shui, she never worked with it. I told her that designing a vision board using Feng Shui principles would be the perfect opportunity to learn the fundamentals and apply its method in a practical, creative and purposeful way.
She was intrigued. We sat together, and right before dessert was served, we agreed to plan a workshop. I was ecstatic about it, and even more so to create my own 2019 Feng Shui vision board.
Feng Shui & The Bagua Map
Feng Shui is about energy flow, balance, transformation, and connection. It’s a design system used to pinpoint all the various aspects of life by harmonizing energy in the areas that impact them.
It may not be obvious at first, but everything that you experience in life is represented and mirrored back in your environment. Feng Shui is handy as it organizes and links all the areas of your life in an energetic grid. It's called the Feng Shui Bagua map.
This Bagua Map translates to eight trigrams and is utilized to identify nine sectors, each corresponding to a specific theme.
At the center of the Bagua is Health.
All other areas are energetically distributed to Health, which correlates to the “Overall Health” or “Overall Vibration” of the space.
Feng Shui brings everything to the surface and acts as an energy conductor, helping to see patterns while connecting the dots in an organized, intrinsic way.
Environmental Science Relates to the 5 Elements
The 5 Elements is a system of building blocks of everything in the Universe that can help support a well-balanced life. Each living matter is composed of the 5 Elements: Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water.
The cycles indicate how these phases transform from one to the other, such as the change of seasons.
When I created my 2019 vision, my dream was to offer my knowledge and wisdom of Feng Shui and energy-balancing modalities with open, larger, and aligned audiences.
I envisioned myself in front of hundreds of people, traveling around the world sharing my story, experiences, and practical ways to shift and transform energy that contribute to achieving optimal health, and sustaining a harmonious environment.
My Life Changing Experience
Two weeks after creating my Feng Shui vision board, I was invited to be a speaker at the Houston Vegan Society of Peace to present an evocative and enlightening topic, Living in Harmony: A practical, compassionate way of sustaining a balanced lifestyle.
It was astonishing to experience my dream come true in such a short time, and that was just the beginning.
When I organized my vision board, I concentrated on my creative expression, transmitting my voice, as well as being recognized in social centers. I’ve been an avid contributor and guide of high-vibrational and harmonious living since.
