About
Opus Gaia Foundation
Regenerating People and Planet
Opus Gaia Foundation is a nonprofit advancing clean water, living soil, resilient youth, and nature-led research.
Through our flagship program, Young Alchemists Lab™, adolescents and teens learn regenerative growing, local plant wisdom, emotional resilience, nutrition, herbal and aromatic education, and youth-adapted Modern Alchemy™ practices.
Through Seed to Shelf Labs™, youth transform what they learn into safe, supervised botanical offerings shared through community barter, donation, storytelling, and global exchange.
Together, we are growing the next generation of Earth stewards.
What is the Opus Gaia Backstory?
Opus- Latin: work, labor, a work
Gaia- Greek: earth, the earth
Magnum Opus- A composer’s great work
Ideas need fertile soil to grow. In the case of Opus Gaia the idea which formed the seed came in a meditative vision 15 years ago. It has taken the time since to find the proper place for that seed to take root and grow here in the mountains of Western North Carolina. This is my vision…
As the “idea” seedling took shape, it grew into three primary branches. The first involved water. Ensuring that all humans have access to a clean water source that holds a high vibrational frequency is paramount. Human life cannot flourish in a toxic desert.
The second branch focuses on the regenerative growing methods for aromatic and medicinal plants as well as high nutrient food. While the soil of the earth recovers from overuse of chemicals and nutrient depletion, I envision facilities allowing for aquaponic plants. These would provide both a source of food and also for the distillation of natural medicinals.
The vision of the third branch is supported by the first two sustaining it. This branch focuses on our youngest humans from children up through teens. The dysfunction at the family level coupled with an outdated education system and lack of independent thinking is contradictory to a healthy and holistic upbringing. We are experiencing higher than ever rates of mental health challenges, addiction, and suicide with our youth. The vision given to me included centers in natural settings where specific ages could gather with trained personnel offering such things as art therapy, energy medicine, nutrition, aromatherapy, and herbal medicine. These modalities would encourage and uplift and harness our youth’s spiritual gifts, honoring the spark and divinity within them.
Opus Gaia Foundation is organized for charitable, educational, scientific, and environmental purposes. Programs involving herbal, aromatic, nutrition, emotional regulation, and vibrational medicine education are offered for educational and wellness-literacy purposes only and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent disease. Traditional and Indigenous knowledge is engaged only through consent-based, culturally respectful partnerships.
