There are three power words that shape the way we love, relate, and create: faith, trust, and surrender. They carry the weight of our family stories, cultural myths, and lived experiences. They sprout inside us through images, memories, and emotions—some bright and uplifting, others tender or raw. And yet, when we learn to work with them consciously, they become a living alchemy that liberates our hearts and aligns our lives.
Trust: Present or in Pattern?
Let’s begin with trust. No matter our age or relationship history, trust asks the same questions:
Can I trust another… and can I trust myself?
Is what I feel clear and authentic, or is it colored by my past?
Am I interpreting my partner’s words and actions accurately—or through the lens of old wounds?
A teacher once offered a line that still rings like a bell in my bones: “We are either present or in pattern.” Period.
When we’re in presence, our nervous system softens. Our discernment is clean. When we’re in pattern, the past grabs the steering wheel—expecting to be hurt, rehearsing defenses, or overlooking red flags. Both are human. The practice is noticing which seat we’re in, moment by moment.
In my own life, even now, trust can flare up like a wild, startled animal. The medicine is to step back and witness. Am I reacting from yesterday’s pain, or responding from today’s clarity? This single pause is the doorway back to self-honesty—and to love.
Faith: The Quiet Knowing Beneath Hope
We often conflate hope with faith. Hope can be a half-step—“I hope it works out”—useful, but noncommittal. Faith is different. Faith is a cellular knowing that we are seen and supported by a Presence larger than the problem. It doesn’t deny reality; it widens it.
Outside dogma, faith feels like an inner horizon that keeps opening. We don’t wait for a sign to believe. We believe—and then we perceive the signs. Faith steadies the “wobble” and reorients us to the benevolent current moving under everything.
Surrender: Power Without the Push
Surrender is not submission. It is the release of control that frees our authentic power. For the strong-willed (hello, friends), surrender can rub against our edges because force has often “worked.” But force is expensive. It drains. It narrows possibility to what we can push.
Right-relationship surrender invites a different posture: chest open, feet grounded, crown lifted. We choose aligned action, then let the timing, form, and outcome be guided. This is how the heart stays soft while the boundaries stay clear.
The Alchemy: How They Work Together
Faith is the inner horizon—your sacred “yes.”
Trust is the daily choice to act from presence, not pattern.
Surrender is how you give your “yes” room to bloom.
Together they create a stabilizing triad that turns intention into embodiment. They are not abstract virtues; they are somatic practices that you can feel in your body.
A 10-Minute Practice: Your “Essence Embodied”
Equation:
Honest self-inquiry + intentional scent + sacred opening = Your Essence Embodied (EE)
1) Honest Self-Inquiry (3–4 min)
Journal quickly without editing:
Where am I present—and where am I in pattern?
What is one thing I’m afraid to trust today?
If faith were a felt sense in my body, where would I locate it?
2) Aromatic Attunement (2–3 min)
Blend the formula below (or hold the bottle if pre-made). Cup your hands, inhale gently, and name your intention aloud.
3) Sacred Opening (3–4 min)
Place one hand on heart, one on belly. On the inhale, whisper “Faith.” On the exhale, whisper “Surrender.” After a few breaths, speak: “I trust the Divine within me to guide my next right step.” Sit for one minute in silence. Then write the single action you will take today in trust.
Aromatherapy Formula for Trust, Faith & Surrender
2 drops German Chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla)
1 drop Neroli (Citrus aurantium)
1 drop Patchouli (Pogostemon cablin)
Dilute into 1 tsp jojoba oil. Warm a drop between your palms. Inhale as you repeat your intention. Anoint a supporting crystal (see below), your heart center, and the back of your neck.
Safety note: Essential oils are potent. Patch test first. Avoid eyes and mucous membranes. If pregnant, nursing, or under medical care, consult a qualified practitioner.
Crystal Ally: Amethyst — clarifying, protective, and supportive of spiritual discernment.
Affirmation: “I surrender to the Divinity within and all around me. I AM that I AM.”

Relationship Check-Ins -Reflections
“Right now, I notice my body feels… I’m present/in pattern because…”
“The story I’m telling myself is… The fact I can verify is…”
“What would trusting myself look like in the next five minutes?”
“What boundary would help love grow here?”
Use these as a weekly ritual with yourself or a partner. Presence builds trust. Trust deepens faith. Faith makes surrender safe.
Coming Home
Faith, trust, and surrender are not finish lines; they are living rooms you can return to throughout the day. Each time you choose presence over pattern, you rewire a little more freedom into your system. Each time you breathe into faith, your field expands. Each time you surrender the outcome, your life reorganizes around what’s truly for you.
May this season be your renaissance: a return to reverence, to your holy power, and to the love that is always already here. 🌹
